Robert C. Johnson, Jr., CFA
The breadth and depth of Bob’s more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry make him uniquely qualified to counsel and advise individuals and families on the management of their assets. Bob’s career path includes time spent managing an insurance company portfolio comprised of over $4 billion in stocks, bonds, and limited partnership interests, as well as managing a bank’s investment portfolio and individual trust accounts. In addition to his portfolio management background, Bob spent a number of years as a securities analyst.
Bob started his career at the Bank of Mid-Jersey where he managed a portion of the bank’s investment portfolio along with a number of individual trust accounts. Subsequently, he joined Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company where he assisted in managing the company’s portfolio and also worked as a securities analyst. During this time, Bob undertook a multi-year course of study and obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
After many years in the corporate sector, Bob founded Skippack Investment Advisors with the goal of providing institutional-level, high quality asset management services to individuals and families. In 2014, to better offer his clients a higher and more comprehensive level of planning services and other asset management resources, he joined Burke Lawton Brewer & Burke, an investment management firm with a similar management style. At BLB&B, Bob continues to manage assets for his clients – primarily individuals, families, and local businesses.
Bob is a graduate of Houghton College and received his MA in Business Management from Central Michigan University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia, Inc.
Outside of the office, Bob is an active volunteer in his community. He served on the board of Mt. Gilead Camp and Conference Center and on the Finance Committee at his church. In his free time, Bob likes to participate in numerous outdoor activities such as golfing, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoys studying history, particularly the American Civil War period.
