BLBB Charitable
The BLBB Community Engagement Committee has already completed three volunteer events this year: (1) mentored Philadelphia high school students at Financial Scholars' Teen Investor Summit and Portfolio Challenge Kickoff; (2) donated and executed an in-kind drive to put together laundry baskets of cleaning supplies for families at Family Promise MontCo, and (2) participated in ACHIEVEability’s Impact Day block beautification.
The Teen Investor Summit kicked off an 8-week portfolio contest for Philadelphia teens in the Financial Scholars program. BLBB volunteers worked with the students one-on-one to advise them on how to start creating their portfolio.
For the third year in a row, a BLBB team joined hundreds of volunteers for ACHIEVEability’s Impact Day. Planting flowers, cleaning trash, and painting porches may seem like little things, but block beautification gives neighbors pride and a reason to gather outside. That in turn creates community and more eyes on the street (which reduces violence). BLBB was proud to once again be a part of this day filled with joy, grit, and gratitude.
