In October, BLBB Board member, Dean Karrash, was on hand to dedicate Mary Mother of Redeemer School’s new STREAM Innovation Lab, funded in part with a grant by BLBB Charitable.
The Innovation Lab will become a flexible and all-encompassing environment for students to research and create, using inquiry to learn about the design and engineering process. The core mission of the new STREAM (Science, Tech, Religion, Engineering, Art, Math) Program is to help students in PreK-8 connect what they learn in school to the future that they can create using design, engineering, and inquiry.
The program, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, encourages students to create engineering solutions to global challenges while focusing on empathy, engagement, and empowerment.
The program provides students with the skills needed to tackle a larger issue, break it down into smaller, manageable steps, and to work creatively and collaboratively.
