BLBB Charitable Pledges Nearly Half a Million to Support Community Events Over the Next Four Years

CEP’s “State of Nonprofits 2026” confirms what many funders already sense: The sector is under strain. Burnout among nonprofit CEOs jumped from 30% in 2025, to 46% this year, and 57% of leaders say foundation grants are harder to get than before. For years, we have told nonprofits they must diversify revenue streams and increase their donor base. Many nonprofits host fundraising events to raise funds for their mission and introduce new donors to their work. These dollars are often critically needed general operating support. These events (often galas and cocktail parties) require a lot of additional work and fundraising efforts. A donor's early commitment to sponsorship of an event can help a nonprofit feel secure in having a strong foundational base of support as they plan the event and can encourage others to also commit to the event. But most nonprofits must start fundraising for events from scratch each year, with few multi-year commitments. And, many funders shun support for fundraising events, even though events are an important tool in a nonprofit’s ability to diversify funding, connect donors to their work, and introduce new people to their mission.

BLBB Charitable, as the giving arm of BLBB Advisors (a financial advisory and investment management firm in Montgomeryville, PA), often supports community events by our grantee partners. BLBB Charitable’s giving is focused on grants to nonprofits that work in the following areas: College Access and Post-Secondary Opportunities, Financial Wellness, K-12 Educational Opportunities and Youth Leadership, and Environmental Education. In these areas of education and leadership, BLBB Charitable is particularly focused on strengthening the nonprofit sector and the organizations we support.

That is why, to support our nonprofit partners, BLBB Charitable has made several multi-year leading pledges to fundraising events. Starting this year, BLBB Charitable is committing nearly $400,000 over the next four years to support to the following fundraising events:  Briar Bush Nature Center's Feather Our Nest event, Bucks County Choral Society's concert season (in honor of Elizabeth Burke), Bucks County Historical Society's Holidays at Fonthill Castle and Cocktails at the Castle event at the Mercer Museum, Squash Smart's BLBB BestShot Ball, and The Whitemarsh Foundation's Open Space, Local Kitchens event.

We hope this show of support over many years will inspire other sponsors to commit early, and maybe even for multiple years, to events that they tend to support each year.
