BLBB Charitable Funds New Storybook Trail

In June, BLBB Charitable help cut the ribbon on Bowman Hill’s Wildflower Preserve’s new Storybook Trail. This new feature at the Preserve is a series of frame-display pedestals for versatile use throughout the Preserve's trails to engage visitors (primarily children and families) through a "story walk" of children's literature featuring seasonal highlights and self-guided family activities. This new walk at Bowman’s Hill is a wonderful way to promote literacy skills and engage young children (and their families) in the work of the preserve and the natural environment. Since the pandemic, attendance of young children and families at the Preserve has grown substantially, and this exhibit will provide a great way to engage this audience.

This will be a changing exhibit, and the inaugural book dedication is A Poem Grows Inside You by Katey Howes. This is a beautiful book written by a Bucks County children’s author who died a year ago of an illness at only 47 years old. Her husband and children are still involved with the Preserve and were honored that her book was chosen as the inaugural Storybook.
