In 2010, after 46 years of service to the investment advisory firm of BLB&B Advisors that he co-founded, Frank Burke and his wife Elizabeth established the Cedarcrest Charitable Foundation.

This entity—now known as BLBB Charitable—was a natural outgrowth of their ongoing focus on community service and philanthropic giving. From the beginning, the Foundation’s grants reflected the Burke’s lifelong commitment to improving the lives of others.

Along the way, Frank encouraged and supported the employees of BLB&B Advisors in their philanthropic and community service efforts as well, deploying Foundation funds to match employee donations to nonprofit organizations and providing grants to organizations where BLB&B employees volunteer and/or serve.

After he established the Foundation, Frank invited his BLB&B Advisors’ partners John Lawton, Laura Brewer, Dean Karrash, and Clifford Haugen to join him on the Board of Directors.

Elizabeth and the Burke family continue to lend advice and input as members of the Family Council.

When Frank passed away early in 2018, the four remaining Directors determined to maximize the impact of the Foundation by expanding both its grants program and employee giving/volunteerism initiatives, all under the new mantle of BLBB Charitable.
