John has well over forty years of fixed-income experience – structuring, underwriting, and trading securities with particular experience on Mid-Atlantic and Northeast issuers, and building and managing fixed-income portfolios for clients. As the Senior Fixed Income Strategist and a Financial Advisor, John often works closely with clients to understand their fixed-income needs and risk tolerance. He then develops, implements, and manages a diversified fixed-income strategy, custom-tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.

In addition to his fixed-income work, John closely follows and analyzes the pharmaceutical sector – something he has done for more than a decade. He is fascinated with the science behind many of the new medicines now under development. He spends a good deal of time researching and meeting with doctors and pharmaceutical and biotechnology company representatives as he attempts to ascertain the investment possibilities many pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies may present.

Before he joined BLBB Advisors, John was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Walnut Asset Management, LLC, where he concentrated on building and managing fixed income portfolios and analyzing the pharmaceutical sector. Earlier in his career, John was a Managing Director of Fixed Income at Pryor, Counts & Co. and Senior Vice President in Finance at Hopper Soliday & Co (now RBC Dain Raucher).

John is a former treasurer of the Municipal Bond Club and lecturer, where, as part of its education committee, he lectured on corporate and public finance. John is currently on the board of directors and finance committee of Regina Coeli, a K-8 classical academy in Abington Pa.

John attended the University of Virginia and holds a B.A. in Economics. He enjoys sailing, distance running and keeping pace with his children.
