Frank is well-known amongst our clients for his disciplined, patient, and protective approach to investing and his kind and thoughtful demeanor. Frank knew from a young age that he would eventually work in the investment industry and his entrepreneurial spirit was evident early on – even before he graduated from college. At just eighteen years of age, Frank bought a gas station in Manhattan, Kansas and used the proceeds from this venture to put himself through Kansas State University where he earned a B.S. in Finance.

Just before he co-founded Burke Lawton Brewer & Burke in 1964, Frank spent eight years in the U.S. Air Force. Fortuitously, he met his co-founder, the late Thomas N. Lawton, while both were serving with the Air Force in London. Frank also used his time in the Air Force to earn an M.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado and to study advanced economics at the London School of Economics.

Throughout his storied business career, Frank has always made community service a high priority. He has a long-standing history of financial management service to business and the community. He has served on the Board of Directors of a number of corporations throughout the United States and on the Board of Trustees of several institutions, including the Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, Pennsylvania, and the Kansas State University Foundation.

Frank and his wife Elizabeth were married in 1954, and have three grown children.
